Named after Mayrig "Nazik" Avasapian, these projects are support students and families in Armenia. Abaven has established close relationships with local organizations and philanthropists in Armenia to collaborate on a new project every year. Through our work, we seek to honor the character traits that Nazik is known for: hospitality, generosity, partnership, and love.

Project History and Partnerships

2025

Abaven Foundation Scholarship Fund: Abaven established a scholarship fund with the American University of Armenia (AUA), which supports women from rural areas of Armenia pursuing higher education. Not only does this project give students the opportunity to advance their education, but it also encourages mentorships and friendships between our organization and the recipients.

We were able to raise $2,500, close to half of the tuition, for one student during the 2025-2026 academic year.

2024

Armenian Relief Corps: ARC's mission is to provide opportunities for families in Gyumri to become self-sufficient. ARC has supported Armenians by arranging permanent housing from domiks and supplying them with daily essentials.

In the summer of 2023, our team members with the ARC visited families in the domiks who were soon to be housed. Below are photos taken during the visit.

2023

All For Armenia Christmas Event: Abaven participated in a successful donation match campaign for All For Armenia's Christmas event, collectively raising over $21,000. Abaven's donation sponsored the delivery of living essentials and food items purchased from small businesses in the area to local and displaced families in the border villages of Syunik. This Christmas event was successful in lifting the spirits of 620 families, including those who were forced to relocate from Artsakh to Syunik after a ten-month-long blockade.
These pictures were provided to us by All For Armenia volunteers who were on the ground delivering baskets to families in Syunik, Armenia.
